Ananack is a wooden set created for the project Toy Story 2. Here the challenge was not only designing something clear and fun, but also being able to experiment and build wooden models.
From 250 ideas from every student, we created 25 different toys. Every idea was presented and discussed, showing developments every week, making us more united by helping each other.
Containing 78 hexagon pieces, one base and the leaves, the Ananack set creates a wooden pineapple. The name emerged from Portuguese word for pineapple “Ananás” combined with “Stack”.
Ananack purpose is to be a balancing toy when building it, and a game when taking it apart, all in a 360º shape. The hexagons make sure to hold the most important piece, the leaves. Those must be placed at the top when built, and the person that makes them fall when taking it apart loses.
In this project I understood what steps I need to take to create a design project. Every class I felt I was being productive and on the right path, as you can see in every photo and in the final product.
